About Me

My photo
I have discovered it is really hard to be Queen in a household with 3 princesses! Somebody is always borrowing my tiara! Well in between hunting my stuff down I am the proclaimed Queen in the Land of fluff (where my husband swears one day that he will die from glitter lung (you get the picture!) Besides that I am a dieting, exercising, crafting, biblestudying kind of girl.

time management.....help mom advice needed

Crafting, decorating, couponing, reading, dancing, exercising, facebooking, blogging, cooking, bible study,...these are a few of my favorite things. However I have learned that even though all my children are in school full time, I still only have so much time for me. As a stay at home mom I still need to do the laundry, make the meals, do the dishes and bless my family by having a clean home for them to come home to. There fore I am learning time management. I can do all things that I enjoy but I have to make time for them, and learn how to balance them. That can be tricky!!! So I am turning to all the moms that I respect at in blog land and I am asking how do you do it?

How do you other moms in blog land schedule or manage your time where you have a balance life and still make time to do the little extras you enjoy???? I would love any tips that you have- I feel I can do several things well, but not all at the same time. Help......!!!!!! Please share any advice or tips you have.

  1. I live by my calendar. Am thinking about starting to block time to make sure I have some "me" time because that part is neglected.
I'm a big believer in mapping it all out and sticking to a schedule. But that's me.

  3. I've tried several different things though the year. Like "Baloney" suggested I've lived by a detailed Calendar for a very long time. I bought Teacher's Planning Calendar and listed EVERYTHING for each day, including meals. This plan served me well...the other thing I did was simpler, but still effective. I vowed to do housework/laundry and such each day until Noon. At noon I would quit, wherever I was in the process, knowing it would be there tomorrow and the afternoon was spent doing things I enjoyed - all the things you listed above. Good luck, looking forward to what others suggest. I'm always looking for a better way to get things done.

  5. I'm all about Dr. Phil's REWARD system. In other words, I can't check e-mail until I've had my quiet time w/ the Lord; I can't make a phone call or have my mid-morning snack until I've done my workout; etc. I set up several "you do this...you get that" situations. I'm very motivated by rewards so this works well for me. Basically, it assures that my priority items get done...all the rest is bonus! :)
