About Me

My photo
I have discovered it is really hard to be Queen in a household with 3 princesses! Somebody is always borrowing my tiara! Well in between hunting my stuff down I am the proclaimed Queen in the Land of fluff (where my husband swears one day that he will die from glitter lung (you get the picture!) Besides that I am a dieting, exercising, crafting, biblestudying kind of girl.

little footprints and handprints.....around the tree

I love decorating the Christmas Tree as a family! Each year while we hang each ornament on the tree we discuss "who" made what ornament, "when" did they make the ornament, "where" we got the ornament from (we buy a Christmas ornament every year on our family vacation.) However my favorite part of decorating the tree is when we get out our tree skirt! Our Christmas tree skirt is so precious to me, because each year since the birth of each girl each Christmas we capture their footprints, and hand prints on the tree skirt in paint. Below is a picture of my now "(9 year old baby footprint)
The girls go over the whole tree skirt finding their footprints when they were to little to get a hand print, finding each of their prints and laughing at how much they have grown.
So even though when guest come into our home and they look at our tree they see only the decorations, and lights. When I sit down with a cup of apple cider by the fire at night, my eyes are on the tree skirt underneath the tree thinking about how quickly time is passing and how spending time with each of my daughters really is the best gift I can give myself! Below is a current picture of my girls. See how Big those feet have gotten!
Hope you are taking time during this busy Holiday season to make time for those in your life that really count!

  1. What a lovely way to keep track - and remind yourself - of the passing time!

  2. Your daughters are beautiful! They do grow up so quickly. Their little handprints and feet prints are a treasured reminder. Your tree is so nicely shaped and decorated.

  3. The tree is lovely.
The Tree skirt will definitely become a Family Heirloom. And those "big-footed girls" are BEAUTIFUL beyond measure. You are blessed!!

  4. I have to reminisce about ornaments alone. Must be the difference between boys and girls. My boys just want to know which ones are theirs. I like to think of the story behind getting each ornament but no one will listen!

  5. That tree skirt is precious. I think I may have to borrow that idea. :)

Just wanted to say (a Looong overdue) Thank You for following my blog. Please excuse my poor manners and know that I am grateful for you and happy you found something that made you want to follow me. Have a great day!
