About Me

My photo
I have discovered it is really hard to be Queen in a household with 3 princesses! Somebody is always borrowing my tiara! Well in between hunting my stuff down I am the proclaimed Queen in the Land of fluff (where my husband swears one day that he will die from glitter lung (you get the picture!) Besides that I am a dieting, exercising, crafting, biblestudying kind of girl.

Helen mirren wins best body

- Helen Mirren's wins best body award from a gym in L.A. And the news media goes wild that someone in their sixty's won. Why, is that? Why do we try to label beautiful or pretty by a certain shape, or age. I really don't think you can put a limit on a definition of beautiful.

Here is another photo of Helen. Doesn't she look amazing! For any age!

I think when we try to define what beauty is a limit what qualifies as beauty -we make it ordinary. I for one, enjoy watching films from the 80's because the actresses look different from each other! It was before Everyone got plastic surgery to try to look exactly the same. If beauty becomes a cookie cutter type of beauty it won't be long until a new definition of beauty evolves.

What or who do you think is beautiful ?

  2. I love the older movies from the 40s and 50s. Those women had bodies! Think of Claudette Colbert, Maureen O'Hara, Greer Garson, etc, etc. Beautiful, classy, and clothed! They didn't have to bare all to prove they had talent. And they certainly weren't cookie cutter either.

  3. She is beautiful. But anymore, none of those bodies and faces are "real."
I don't like to think of what our kids will grow up thinking they have to do to be beautiful.
