About Me

My photo
I have discovered it is really hard to be Queen in a household with 3 princesses! Somebody is always borrowing my tiara! Well in between hunting my stuff down I am the proclaimed Queen in the Land of fluff (where my husband swears one day that he will die from glitter lung (you get the picture!) Besides that I am a dieting, exercising, crafting, biblestudying kind of girl.

Make up free bloggers

Wow! An amazing thing is happening across blog land. Women are going with out make up to show to show real beauty - I am willing to post a picture of myself with out make up -it really is not my comfort zone. However when I think of beauty several things come to mind. What is beauty? What is beautiful? I believe the following things are really beautiful:

Feet of those who care enough to show up!

Hands that hold your hand are beautiful!!

Ears that listen to you cry, or talk about what is important are beautiful!

Shoulders to lean on are beautiful
Eyes that watch over you and notice the small things are beautiful!

Knees that people fall on to pray are beautiful!

Those are the things that I feel are really beautiful! Those things are below the surface, they are not what we tend to think of as beauty. When it comes to the surface beauty of a lady I think the confidence, happiness and enjoyment she projects makes her really beautiful. One of my favorite quote sums it up best:
Taking joy in life is a woman's best cosmetic!" - Rosalind Russell

With all that said - please do not shoot me ladies! If you know what "real" beauty is, then I don't think it should make anyone crazy or to upset that I say: that I think, even an old barn looks better with a coat of paint!
So with that said I will not be giving up my make up after today- I know what real beauty is but I think a coat of paint would not hurt this old barn any either! Hope you girls all have a good weekend!

  1. Such happiness in your eyes! Perfect!

  2. I love what you wrote here. So beautiful!

    You're beautiful too!

Thanks for taking part in BWM Day! :)

  3. The older I get, the more I need and appreciate my make-up. But, at the same time, the older (& wiser) I get, the more I realized inner beauty is what shines.
    Thanks for the reminder! :)

  4. I guess I participated yesterday and didn't know it! Had to go shopping for clothes for youngest son...shopping to me is a chore, and I don't wear makeup when I do chores! Luckily I didn't run into anyone I know!

  5. Cute picture! I like what you had to say today.

  6. LOL! Love the old barn saying.

Great post. And, ALL those things are truly beautiful. Just like you. =)
