About Me

My photo
I have discovered it is really hard to be Queen in a household with 3 princesses! Somebody is always borrowing my tiara! Well in between hunting my stuff down I am the proclaimed Queen in the Land of fluff (where my husband swears one day that he will die from glitter lung (you get the picture!) Besides that I am a dieting, exercising, crafting, biblestudying kind of girl.

weight loss update

Well this is my weight update for the week. I have decided to take the advice of Keelie from RealFat and take photos of my weight loss journey. The below picture was taken on New Years Eve this year. I knew I had gained weight after breaking my arm in the fall, but I was really not prepared to see the below photo of myself. I was a lot, I mean A LOT wider on the bottom than I had even realized that I was. I guess I was hanging out in denial!
weight: 249.5

current weight: 222.5
down 27 pounds
Keelie recommends taking pictures of your weight loss journey so that even when other people do not notice your weight loss, you have record and confirmation that your body is changing. Whew! This was an emotional post today!

This week my weight did not change -Ahh! However, it was my birthday week I turned 41 this past week. So I had ate out for dinner (did I mention I ate my weight in chips and salsa, and had birthday cake and I did not gain! So I will take that as a victory of some sorts.)

How did I manage that you ask, well my weekly report was emailed to me for LoseIt! and it told me my totals for the week were:
walking: 5 hours and 30 Min's
Stationary bike: 1 hour and 55 Min's

I am making healthy changes, and I am taking better care of myself. I am starting this week to add free weights into the equation and see if that helps make a difference in my weight loss for next week.

keeping it real

Well this is my once a week report on how I am doing - learning to run and getting in shape. This is my accountability - it is to keep it real, and keep my honest!

Well this is how I fared:

*I made my goal of doing 10 miles walk/jogging

*I did not do Pilate's or yoga even 1 time! Ah!!!

I was having feet pain - horrible pain!! the day after I walk/jogged 2.8 miles I spent the next day with my feet on ice, popping ibuprofen like it was candy and whining. Lots of Whining!! However my neighbor - expert runner - came over and took one look at the shoes and said "scrap those shoes! That is what is causing your feet pain" . So with that in mind I am going to go shoe shopping this weekend. I will probably be looking at a New Balance or Ascics running shoe. Because honestly, it is hard enough to get this body going and keeping on -with out my feet putting me on the sideline the day after I exercise!

New goals for the upcoming week:

*12 miles walk/jog

*yoga and Pilate's at least 2x each (I know I am a sucker for punishment - but I would really like this to be part of my routine!!!)

My next keeping it real post will be next Friday - thanks for indulging me and helping me keep it real!

Day 23 of my diet

Well I thought I would post an update on my diet today. It is now day 23 of my diet, and I have officially lost 17 pounds! WooHoo! I am down 1 dress size - yeah! I am very excited. This has been the best diet I have ever tried.

I have been trying some of the recipes that are on the HCG website - some have been good, some have been ugh! (The mock onion rings - not so good) but they have given me more variety and flavor in my diet - which is nice. When you are on a 500 calorie diet (no fats allowed) you really want what food you do eat to be flavorful. I have been having a hard time with eating all my protein it just seems like I get full half way thru but I have been making myself eat most of it.

My diet group met the other night it was so informative, they told me some things about the support website that I had not figured out on my own. Also it was encouraging - I am the newest newbie, and I am in the round 1 of my diet - so I am just beginning to see weight loss, but these other ladies have all lost 30+ which is encouraging to stay the course. Keep on, keeping on.

I hope I have more news to share with you all next week. You can follow my weight loss if you are curious even when I am not posting about my diet(because I love blogging about everything not just my diet) You can follow my progress because I installed this little handy weight loss tracker on the right side of my blog - I will update it daily if there is any change.
