About Me

My photo
I have discovered it is really hard to be Queen in a household with 3 princesses! Somebody is always borrowing my tiara! Well in between hunting my stuff down I am the proclaimed Queen in the Land of fluff (where my husband swears one day that he will die from glitter lung (you get the picture!) Besides that I am a dieting, exercising, crafting, biblestudying kind of girl.

weight loss update

Well this is my weight update for the week. I have decided to take the advice of Keelie from RealFat and take photos of my weight loss journey. The below picture was taken on New Years Eve this year. I knew I had gained weight after breaking my arm in the fall, but I was really not prepared to see the below photo of myself. I was a lot, I mean A LOT wider on the bottom than I had even realized that I was. I guess I was hanging out in denial!
weight: 249.5

current weight: 222.5
down 27 pounds
Keelie recommends taking pictures of your weight loss journey so that even when other people do not notice your weight loss, you have record and confirmation that your body is changing. Whew! This was an emotional post today!

This week my weight did not change -Ahh! However, it was my birthday week I turned 41 this past week. So I had ate out for dinner (did I mention I ate my weight in chips and salsa, and had birthday cake and I did not gain! So I will take that as a victory of some sorts.)

How did I manage that you ask, well my weekly report was emailed to me for LoseIt! and it told me my totals for the week were:
walking: 5 hours and 30 Min's
Stationary bike: 1 hour and 55 Min's

I am making healthy changes, and I am taking better care of myself. I am starting this week to add free weights into the equation and see if that helps make a difference in my weight loss for next week.

keeping it real

Well I have not blogged much this last week because.....I fractured my elbow while I was jogging- ugh!! So this weeks total was

2 miles run/walking/falling

You see I was jogging enjoying the wonderful weather, the beautiful view (down on riverside drive) when I fell (just rolled my ankle - over what I am not even sure!!) . When I was falling I put my hands up to brace for impact and well the left arm bone was shoved into my elbow joint on impact. --OUCH!!! However what does any red blooded woman do???

Well we quickly look around to make sure no one is videoing your fall to upload to YouTube -whew! Doesn't look like it - one very nice biker stopped to see if I was OK, but did I mention he asked "mam, are you OK?" I don't know what was worse being called "Ma'am" or being on the ground hurt. So of course I thank the nice gentleman, as I brush myself off, and get up and finish my jog and go to Starbucks for a coffee before my pride allows me to inventory possible injuries. Thus when I realized I had started to loose the use of my left hand and decided it was time to call wonderful hubby in to take me to the urgent care.

Did I tell you that my whole family is trying to give me away for free right now - I am horrible patient, who feels bad, likes to whine, and really sick of being in my house - who can not right now tie her shoes or clasp her own bra. Thus unless it is coffee with the girlfriends (who do not care if I am bra less) I have been pretty much stuck in my house driving everyone crazy.

So how is that for keeping it real??????

keeping it real

Well I only did 3.8 miles last week because...(enter sound effects here dunt-dunt-duh!) My feet have been hurting!!! I have Plantar fasciitis - ugh!!!

So I took 7 days off - taking lots of naproxen and icing the bottom of my foot. All with hopes that if I run/walk every other day this upcoming week - I will be able to with out too much pain. So I will update you next week - in the mean time, keep your fingers crossed for me and say a little pray!!

Also if you have not entered my give away yet please do so!!! look for the post headed "I Know I'm not Oprah but..." and leave me a comment!!! You have until Wed. at midnight to enter- good luck!!

keeping it real

This post is so real ...it is 4 days late!!! Sorry my laptop died and I am having to fight my kiddo's for the computer in the family room - and since the temperatures have been topping over one hundred degrees they have seemed to be camping out there permanently, at least until next week when school starts.

Last week:
*I ran 14.8 miles---Woo Hoo!!! This is a first for me!
*I did Pilate's 2 times - double Woo Hoo!!!
*I did Yoga..drum roll please .......None!

Well it goes to show you can not do all things all the time. But I still am working to add this to my weekly routine.

My goals this week:
* running(jog/walk)--9.8 miles
*Pilates 2 times
*yoga 2 times

I am very excited that my new shoes seem to be working out - my feet are not so sore! In fact almost all my feet pain are gone except for in one heel, I believe it is a bruised fat pad on that foot. Also a result from improper foot ware. I am hoping that this to will improve with time.

keeping it real

Well this is my once a week report on how I am doing - learning to run and getting in shape. This is my accountability - it is to keep it real, and keep my honest!

Well this is how I fared:

*I made my goal of doing 10 miles walk/jogging

*I did not do Pilate's or yoga even 1 time! Ah!!!

I was having feet pain - horrible pain!! the day after I walk/jogged 2.8 miles I spent the next day with my feet on ice, popping ibuprofen like it was candy and whining. Lots of Whining!! However my neighbor - expert runner - came over and took one look at the shoes and said "scrap those shoes! That is what is causing your feet pain" . So with that in mind I am going to go shoe shopping this weekend. I will probably be looking at a New Balance or Ascics running shoe. Because honestly, it is hard enough to get this body going and keeping on -with out my feet putting me on the sideline the day after I exercise!

New goals for the upcoming week:

*12 miles walk/jog

*yoga and Pilate's at least 2x each (I know I am a sucker for punishment - but I would really like this to be part of my routine!!!)

My next keeping it real post will be next Friday - thanks for indulging me and helping me keep it real!
