Well we stopped in Memphis and saw the largest pyramid in the U.S.A. (one daughter just loves egyptians stuff)
Went to eat some Memphis BBQ at Rendezvous. This was a fun restaurant. You had to go down an alleyway in order to find the entrance, then proceed downstairs to find this place.
My family enjoyed the experience of the place, we appreciated the history of the establishment. However, I think I prefer Kansas City style BBQ the best. (yes, you can leave me comments as to what type of BBQ you like best!)
We continued on on journey to the Smokie mountains. The Mountains did not disappoint! The Mountains at times were smokie, the land around was green and lush.
We hiked:
We saw water:
We saw trees:
We wore crazy hats & mask:
We posed for pictures:
We mined for gold:
We found some pretty rocks:
We went and saw the "General Lee" (the car that was used during the filming of the Dukes of Hazard tv show)
We got to taste moonshine (whew! That stuff could grow hair on your chest, yuck!)
We shopped till we dropped!
We went to a wax museum
We took fun pictures with the wax statues:
We had fun. On our way home we stopped in Nashville to see the replica of the Parthenon.
Fun, fun, fun was had by all. Here's some pictures of my teens trying to block me from taking their picture.
Did I mention that we had fun?
Great photos!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful family - so glad you had a good time.
Thanks for sharing the pictures. The Smokey Mountains are beautiful and I can see you had a great time. Did they weigh your gold? I like the glittery dress. :-)
ReplyDeleteSadly we did not find gold :( but we had a blast trying to find some
DeleteSo....when you left Nashville headed back to Oklahoma, were you on I24? If so, at one point you were within a mile of my house! You should have told me you were coming--I would have waved! I'm thinking that pyramid houses a Bass Pro Shop. At least that was the rumor a couple of years back. And please don't judge TN BBQ by that at the Rendezvous. I've been there and I know where you can get better! Glad you had a fun trip!
ReplyDeleteI wish I would have known, I would have waved as I passed by. I won't judge TN BBQ on Rendezvous, and it was a fun place & the service was great!
DeleteI tell you TN was so nice! as we drive home to OK our temperature raised 33 degrees!! It has been very very hot here! Hopefully the worst has passed!!
